Fiction Norway is an invite-only project market, bringing together brings Norway’s top producers and directors together with international acquisition, finance, distribution and development executives. For the 2024 edition we will present Finland as a partner country, and introduce a special focus on indigenous and arctic voices, inviting producers and directors from several Northern countries to present their projects.
The project selection is curated by the Norwegian Film Institute, Finnish Film Foundation and International Sámi Film Institute. All projects will be in advanced development, with rights available and a solid partner attached. The projects will be presented in Tromsø by the lead producers and directors, and the Fiction Norway team will be on hand to book one-on-one meetings.
Fiction Norway was organized for the first time in 2020, hosted by the Tromsø International Film Festival. Past attendees include NEON, HBO, Netflix, Hulu, XYZ Films, AMC Networks, Plan B Entertainment, Charades, Searchlight Pictures, CAA Media Finance, Endeavor Content, Participant Media, Untitled Entertainment, Criterion, Zero Gravity Management, North Road, Dynamic Television, Lionsgate, IFC Films and more.
The 2022 edition was held in Los Angeles during the Oscars Week, celebrating Norway’s six Academy Award nominations.
